At 12:02 hours on December 25th, Christmas Day, Chittenango Fire was alerted for a reported Chimney Fire on Quarry Rd. Chittenango Chiefs arrived on scene to find a one-story wood frame house with fire in the attic and the crawl space, at which point a Working Structure Fire was declared.
Firefighters stretched fire attack handlines inside the house to knock down the fire before ventilating the roof. Crews ventilated the house of smoke while checking for extension and overhauling the burned contents. Three hours later units were back in service.
